The Japanese Sword Museum

The Japanese Sword Museum

The Japanese Sword Museum was first established in Yoyogi in 1968 as an affiliate of the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai(NBTHK- established for conservation purposes). Now that the museum has moved to the corner of Old Yasuda Garden in Ryogoku, visitors can appreciate swords and other related objects, the art of fine arts and crafts, while enjoying the view of the beautiful garden. Collections of the museum as well as swords borrowed from oversea collectors who obtained them after the Second World War are exhibited. The displayed items change every two months or so. There are also many visitors from abroad.
