The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace

The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace is a public garden of the Imperial Palace created from Edo Castle’s innermost circles of defense, the honmaru (main pavilion), ninomaru (secondary pavilion), and sannomaru. You can see Japanese gardens, facilities related to the Imperial household and historic remains such as remains of the Edo Castle. It is open to the public at no fee. Many foreign visitors enjoy seasonal plants such as cherry blossoms and colour changing leaves in Autum. Some roads are so steep that wheelchair users can't go through except the slope from Ohbansho to Honmaru. There are some voluinteer tour guides, then you can join the tour if you reserve them in advance.
