Kokugikan(Sumo Stadium)

Kokugikan is the Sumo Stadium with its highly visible green roof in front of Ryogoku Station (JR). Annual Sumo tournaments take place in January, May, and September. Although Sumo is a combat sport, spectators feel the Japanese culture and tradition through things such as costumes of Sumo referees making it popular among foreigners. It is difficult to get tickets.
Tickets for wheelchair users are available only through a call to 0570-02-9310, as they ask the name of a wheelchair user and an attendant, type of the wheelchair, mobile phone number and so on. The booking by phone is available only in Japanese, not in other languages.
8-10 seats for wheelchair users are provided at four corners on the first floor, near TV cameras.
It is flat from the gate to the wheelchair users space. Restrooms with wheelchair access are available as well as three parking spaces for wheelchair users (booking required).
