Benzaiten is well known among the local people from a long time ago and it became a shrine in the Meiji period. The water coming out from its cave is believed to be spiritual and people bring money and wash them with the water to draw good luck. It is far from Kamakura station and there is a steep slope to the entrance. It is convenient for wheelchair users to go by taxi. The precinct is basically flat and accessible for wheelchair users. It is also accessible for wheelchair users to the sightseeing highlight “Money washing chamber”.

Walk from Kamakura Sta.
The route from Kamakura station is paved and not crowded so it is safe to walk. There are uphill and downhill slopes and a tunnel on the way. The last slope to the entrance is very steep and difficult for wheelchair users to go up.
Time required 20 minutes walk from Kamakura station. 5 minutes by taxi.
