Hotel Inspection report of Hotel Asia Center of Japan

I would like to introduce Hotel Asia Center of Japan in Roppongi to you.

The location of Universal Room

The universal room is next to the lobby on the first floor, so you can come there without taking an elevator.

Entrance of the universal room

Moving spaces inside the room

The width between beds is about 90cm. It is enough for a wheelchair to move around. The height of beds is not so high, 53cm. Therefore, a wheelchair user can move from his or her wheelchair to the bed smoothly.

Bathroom

The bathroom has a sink and a lavatory on the right side and a bathtub room on the left side. The entrance of the bathtub room is 80cm wide. A bath chair is prepared and hand rails are installed on the wall of the bathtub room. The left edge of the bathtub is wide enough for a wheelchair user to sit on. I found an emergency button just behind a blue chair at the bathtub room. There are three racks for bath amenities next to a mirror and those can be useful for long-stay travelers.

Handbooks

There are Japanese, English and Chinese versions of Emergency handbooks available. The handbooks help you understand your evacuation route in case of fire or an earthquake.

Closet

Clothes hanger rails are positioned a bit higher, so wheelchair users may have difficulties in hanging their clothes.

The hotel has a parking space for wheelchair users.

The routes from stations near the hotel

The route from Exit No.2 of Aoyama-itchome station is recommended because you can easily get out of the station by using an elevator. Nogizaka station is the nearest. However, there are stairs and slopes on the way to the hotel.

I sincerely would like to thank staff of Hotel Asia Center of Japan for their cooperation to my field work.
