The platforms of the JR Saikyo Line and JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line have been constructed next to the platforms of the JR Yamanote Line. As a result, it became easier to transfer to the JR Yamanote Line or the Ginza Line Tokyo Metro. This new platform is also connected to the Hachiko ticket gate via elevator. I will show you the routes to the Hachiko ticket gate, the Ginza Line ticket gate and the JR Yamanote Line ticket gate.
Elevators to the ground level
W2 : Elevator to Hachiko ticket gate floor
The route to the Hachiko ticket gate
Take the elevator located at the northern side of the new platform. This elevator takes you to the 1st floor.
Get off the elevator on the 1st floor and head for the Hachiko ticket gate to get out of the station.
You will arrive at the Hachiko ticket gate as you pass through the passageway. You can go to Hachiko Square and Shibuya Crossing from the gate.
Take the elevator at the Hachiko ticket gate floor in case you need to catch the JR Saikyo Line.
The central east gate
Take the elevator at the platform of the JR Saikyo Line. This elevator takes you to the 3rd floor.
Get off the elevator on the 3rd floor. You will reach the ticket gates of the JR Yamanote Line and of the Ginza Line Tokyo Metro.
Go straight on the passageway after getting off the elevator.
The central east gate is on the passageway. The central east gate is also one exit of Scramble Square on the 3rd floor. You can take a train of the Ginza Line Tokyo Metro or the Fukutoshin Line Tokyo Metro after you pass through this gate.
You can get to the central gate of the JR Yamanote Line when you turn left along the passageway.
You can only see the stairs from the photo. However, wheelchair users have access to the gate as a ramp is installed on one side of the ticket gate.
You can take the JR Saikyo Line or the JR Yamanote Line when you enter the central east gate connected to the 3rd floor of Shibuya Scramble Square.
You can reach the ticket gate of the Ginza Line Tokyo Metro by turning right in front of the gate.
